When you get together about a dozen kids for a birthday party, man you get a lot of crazy and fun mixed together. Most of the kids who attened the party were classmates along with a couple neighborhood kids and a family we met from church. At Jonathan's age some parents drop off their kid where others stay, so we had a few parents as well. Even though our house is bigger, at times it did feel a little cramped, but luckily half of the party was outside.
The party began with some good old fashion games. We started things off with a sack race (to release some of the crazy kid energy) and then we had a spoon/egg race. The kids were very good at the games. Only one kid dropped an egg. We then went inside for pizza and once the food was eaten, went back outside for a water balloon toss.
The weather has been so nice the last couple of days I decided last night to add the balloon toss. The kids had a lot of fun. Jonathan and his partner were the last ones to still have a water balloon. The other kids saw it and shortly we had a chase to try to break the last balloon. At times the thought mob mentality went through my head. Our backyard is small but behind it is a huge grassy area which was perfect for all the games.
Once the chasing was over back inside for cupcakes and icecream. It's funny how quickly it quieted down due to kids eating not talking. Next was present time which Jonathan received a lot of cool toys. Among them was some Bakugan players which he became very excited over and can't stop talking about. Last, but not least, the kids were sent on a "mission" to find their goody bags. I gave them the first clue, which led to other clues until they found the treasure. I don't think the parents who came knew how much moving around we would do... I gave them and the kids a good work out.
Another birthday party came and went... very exciting but boy am I tired.
