Outing

Even though it was raining, we decided to drive out to Lancaster which is where some Amish communities live. We went to an Amish village where we took a tour about how the Amish people live. Things are pretty much the same as nonAmish, except they do not use electricity. The Amish have some cool contraptions hooked up to their washer and other appliances so they can use them without using electricity. They feel using electricity connects them too much to the world.

After the house tour, we walked around the grounds where we saw a baby mule. It was born that morning!
We also saw some pigs and goats. It gave Ella a chance to see animals, not just a picture, and learn their names.
Walking through the different areas was rather interesting. The rain was coming down steadily, plus wind. Ella absolutely loved the rain and wind hitting her face. She was giggling and wore a smile from ear to ear. To end the outing, we took picture of the kids together in a buggy. Jonathan wanted to stay inside the buggy longer, but we were all soaked and it was time to head home so the kids could go to bed.
