Summer vacation is...

almost over? I can't believe it but in about 2 weeks the kiddos will be back in school. I was hoping to post once per week, but that didn't happen . I guess I'll just recap what went on this summer.

The first week Jonathan went to Camp Invention. This was the third year going and his last since next year he will be too old. I think this year was his best. Everyday he had some new exciting thing to talk about. The last day of camp, Friday, parents are invited at the end of the day to take a tour and see the kids' inventions. Some of the things they did were make a city, launch rubber duckies and create armor.

The second week of vacation, the kiddos relaxed a few days and then got ready for a visit from their grandparents, celebrate Audrey's birthday and Father's day. Ryan said his best present was being able to hang out with his dad and make a bed for his girls. It turned out awesome! I still need to paint it but the girls love sleeping in it.

The kids had a Darth Vader theme going on with the Father's day cards they made for Ryan.

The last 2 weeks consisted of swimming, the normal day-to-day activities and trying to survive this crazy heat with temps up to 118 degrees. We happened to stop by the library when a special summer show was about to happen. The two older girls loved it, until the end when they realized they did not have a balloon creation. Ryan and I have taken kids out for little daddy or mommy one-on-one time along with Huntington parties here and there. It has been a good mix of relaxation and fun time.

Jonathan has been working on some Cub Scout badges along with finally fixing and setting up the fish tank. So far he has been great at taking care of those fishies.

The girls have done a few crafty type things and have played pretty well together.

What's next? We are getting ready for a road trip to end the summer off with a bang!
