Curiosity has driven her to accomplish much this past month. She has gone from a slow, leisurely crawl to a quicker pace. She wants to keep up with her siblings and see what they are up to so she is constantly traveling behind them to find out... usually up to trouble but that is another story.
She is also very curious about anything that could harm her and wants to pick it up and put it in her mouth. Her favorites are power cords and pieces of paper. I feel like I am continuously picking things up and vacuuming probably because the other two kids keep dropping things. I am constantly pulling things out of her clutched hand and now she cries in protest. Leia also figured out sometimes, OK most of the time, there is something under the couch so she will pull stuff out and likes to roll under Ella's bed to get at Ella's stash of toys but then gets stuck.
This drive has recently helped Leia figure out how to pull her body up. After all, when Ella and Jonathan are sitting on the couch Leia needs to see what they are doing. She has mastered getting up "the Step". It is now effortless. She just lifts that little leg of hers and cruises right over it. How ever she cannot get down it. Actually she can but it's a mini, dangerous tumble. What's that saying... curiosity is what killed the cat? This little girl better be careful because she only has one life. Gotta keep an extra eye on her.
As far as words, she can say Dada. Yes Dada, not Mama. However her face completely lights up when either word is uttered. It just fills my heart with joy.
Right before we made the video Leia said Dada but we could not get it out of her when we busted out the camera. However, I am happy to report I can say it. She was a bit distracted by the camera strap and kept crawling over me to play with it. However it is cute to hear her babbling. Not so cute to hear mine.
